Metal is the mother of industry and the foundation of national defense. Metal stamping hardware products are generally divided into two main categories: large hardware and small hardware. Large hardware refers to steel plates, reinforcing bars, flat iron, universal angle steel, channel steel, I-beams, and various types of steel materials. Small hardware includes building hardware, sheet metal, locks, nails, wire, wire mesh, wire cutters, household hardware, and various tools, etc.
Basic requirements for metal stamping materials: From the perspective of stamping processing, the mechanical properties, surface quality, and thickness tolerance of stamping materials should meet the following basic requirements:
Materials used for blanking in metal stamping should have sufficient plasticity and low hardness to improve the quality of the blanking section and dimensional accuracy. Soft materials have good blanking performance, while hard materials (such as stainless steel and high carbon steel) have poor blanking section quality. Brittle materials are prone to tearing during blanking.
Materials used for bending should have sufficient plasticity, low yield strength, and high modulus of elasticity. Materials with good plasticity are less prone to bending and cracking, while materials with lower yield strength and higher elastic modulus exhibit less springback.
Materials used for deep drawing in metal stamping should possess good plasticity, lower yield strength and hardness, and a larger thickness orientation coefficient. Materials with high hardness are difficult to deep draw; materials with a low yield strength ratio or a large thickness orientation coefficient are easier to deep draw.
