Metal stamping parts are ubiquitous in daily life. To improve customer production efficiency and quality, we continuously introduce advanced foreign technologies and products. How is the quality of metal stamping parts reflected? We analyze it from the following aspects:
Chemical Analysis and Metallographic Inspection: Analyzing the content of chemical elements in the material, determining the grain size level and uniformity, evaluating the level of free cementite, banded structure, and non-metallic inclusions, and checking for defects such as shrinkage cavities and porosity.
Material Inspection: The materials processed for stamping parts are mainly hot-rolled or cold-rolled (mainly cold-rolled) metal sheets and strips. The raw materials for hardware stamping parts should have quality certificates, ensuring that the materials meet the specified technical requirements. When there is no quality certificate or for other reasons, the hardware stamping parts manufacturer can select raw materials for re-inspection as needed.
Forming Performance Testing: Bending tests and cupping tests are conducted on the materials to determine the work hardening index (n) and plastic strain ratio (r).
Furthermore, the testing methods for the forming performance of steel sheets can be carried out according to the regulations for the forming performance and testing methods of thin steel sheets.
Hardness Testing: The hardness of metal stampings is tested using a Rockwell hardness tester. Small stampings with complex shapes, where the test surface is too small to be tested on a standard benchtop Rockwell hardness tester, are suitable for such applications.
Other Performance Requirements Measurement: Measurements are performed on the electromagnetic properties of the material and the adhesion of platings and coatings, etc.
