Metal stamping is a widely used forming technology in industrial production, and its basic principles involve multiple fields such as materials mechanics, plasticity mechanics, and tribology.

 

The basic principle of metal stamping is to use a stamping press to place a sheet metal between a die, and apply pressure to cause plastic deformation of the metal, thereby obtaining a part of the desired shape and size. During the stamping process, the sheet metal is subjected to pressure, causing its internal grain structure to rearrange, achieving material flow and forming. This plastic deformation process is reversible, meaning that when the external force is removed, the sheet metal can still return to its original shape. However, during the stamping process, the metal will suffer certain damage, leading to changes in its mechanical properties and surface quality.

 

The metal stamping process requires a stamping press and a die. The stamping press is the device that provides the stamping power; its working principle is to use hydraulic or pneumatic transmission to make a slide move reciprocatingly linearly on a guide rail, thereby realizing the stamping operation of the sheet metal. The die is the key component that determines the shape and size of the part, and its design and manufacturing precision directly affects the quality of the stamped part. During the stamping process, the friction between the die and the metal sheet is also one of the important factors affecting the stamping effect.
